Types of FiveM cheats: a plain guide for server owners

Types of FiveM cheats in plain words: aimbot, silent aim, mod menus, godmode, noclip, executors, fake triggers and backdoors, plus the first fix for each.

Published 6 min read

FiveM cheats live in two places. Some run on the player’s own PC and change what their game does, like aim help, godmode or flying through walls. Others go after your server’s code, with fake requests for money and items or backdoors hidden in scripts you installed. Knowing which is which tells you who fixes it: your anticheat, your developer or your staff.

The two places cheats live

The first place is the player’s game. The player controls that PC, so anything running there can be changed. The Cfx.re security guide says it plainly: checks done on the client can be overridden. Anything your server takes on trust from a player can be faked.

The second place is your server’s resources. A cheater can send your server events with any values they like. A bad script you installed can open a door from the inside. These are code problems, and your developer fixes them.

Aim cheats

Aim cheats decide fights. Players call the people using them “closet cheaters” when they hide it and “rage hackers” when they don’t.

  • Aimbot: the crosshair snaps onto heads, often faster than a person can react.
  • Silent aim: shots land even when the crosshair is clearly off target. On spectate it looks like a miss that still kills.
  • Rapid fire: a weapon shoots faster than it normally can.
  • Damage boosts: one shot kills when it should take three or four.
  • Long-range kills: kills from distances the weapon can’t reach.
  • Kill-all: several players die at once with no shooter in sight.

Mod menus

A mod menu is an in-game menu that bundles many cheats behind one button. Players call the users modders or menu users. These are the effects your staff will see.

  • Godmode: the player takes hits and doesn’t die.
  • Noclip: the player flies through walls, floors and the map.
  • Teleporting: the player jumps across the map in an instant, often into houses or onto other players.
  • Spawned cars: vehicles appear that no shop or garage gave out.
  • Explosions: blasts appear from nowhere, often on crowded spots.
  • Crash attempts: actions meant to freeze or crash other players’ games.

Cheat software: executors and injectors

An executor lets a cheater run their own script code inside their game. An injector pushes cheat code into the game process. Most mod menus depend on one of these.

Cfx.re runs its own automated anticheat for this layer. Its ban FAQ says it detects outside programs that inject into the game client and bans the linked account from FiveM and RedM. That covers the platform. It doesn’t know your rules, your economy or your scripts.

Some cheaters also try to switch your anticheat off on their side. A good anticheat treats that attempt as a detection on its own. Script Hook V is a separate case. The server setting sv_scriptHookAllowed is off by default, and the Cfx.re docs call turning it on not recommended.

Economy cheats: fake triggers and item theft

Your scripts talk to the server through events. A job script might tell the server “I finished the delivery, pay me”. If the server pays whatever amount the client sends, a cheater sends the event with a huge number. That is a fake trigger.

  • Spawned money: balances jump with no job, sale or transfer behind them.
  • Spawned items: weapons, drugs or rare items appear in an inventory from nowhere.
  • Item theft: items move out of another player’s inventory without a trade.

The fix lives in your code. The Cfx.re guide tells developers to read money, inventory, position and permissions from the server, never from the player.

How to secure FiveM server events

Backdoors hidden in scripts you installed

Some cheats arrive with your own downloads. The Cfx.re resource FAQ warns about resources with “prohibited logic”, and some of them spread by infecting your other resources. A backdoor can give an outsider admin powers, money or a way to run code on your server. Leaked and “free” copies of paid scripts are the usual carrier.

How to check your server for backdoors

Banned weapons, props and outfits

Some things are only cheats because of your rules. Think of weapons your server never hands out, huge props dropped on players, a copy of a staff member’s outfit or explicit animations. You decide that list, write it in your rules and let your tools enforce it.

Which cheats hurt roleplay and which hurt PvP

On PvP servers, aim cheats do the most damage. Silent aim, rapid fire and damage boosts decide fights, and honest players leave when they lose to them.

On roleplay servers, the economy takes the hit. Spawned money, item theft, spawned cars and godmode in a police chase ruin hours of other players’ work. Noclip into houses breaks scenes.

Both kinds of servers suffer from explosions, kill-all and crash attempts. Those hit everyone online at once.

What to do about each one

  • Aim cheats. First fix: ask players for clips with every report. Anticheat response: start on watch only, then ban once you trust the results.
  • Mod menus. First fix: ask your developer whether entity lockdown fits your scripts, so players can’t create objects freely. Anticheat response: kick or ban godmode, noclip and teleporting.
  • Executors and injectors. First fix: keep Script Hook blocked, as it is by default. Anticheat response: ban, and count shutdown attempts as detections.
  • Economy cheats. First fix: server-side checks in every event that gives money or items. Anticheat response: block the request and set bait that only a cheater would trigger.
  • Backdoors. First fix: remove scripts from unknown sources and have the rest reviewed. Anticheat response: flag for review instead of banning.
  • Banned weapons and props. First fix: write the list into your rules. Anticheat response: block or remove them.

Daddy Shield lets you pick one of those responses for each protection: watch only, block, kick or ban. Every ban also saves a screenshot from the player’s game, so staff see what happened before anyone argues.

Anticheat rules without false bans

FAQ

Does FiveM have its own anticheat? Yes. Cfx.re bans accounts that inject outside programs into the game. It doesn’t watch your economy or your server events, so most servers add their own protection.

Does FiveM have an anticheat?

Is every strange kill a cheat? No. Lag and high ping can make normal shots look wrong. That is why new aim protections should start on watch only.

Can my staff catch cheaters without an anticheat? Some, through reports and spectating. It needs staff online and it is slow, and cheaters know it.
