Copy the rules below, change the parts in brackets and post them in Discord and in-game. They cover cheating, the proof a ban needs, how long bans last and how players appeal. Keep them short, because players skip long rule lists.
How to use this template
Replace [Server name] and the other bracketed parts with your own. Pick ban lengths that fit your community and write them down before you need them. Staff then apply the same rule to everyone.
Roleplay servers will add RP rules on top, such as fear for your life or no metagaming. This template covers the parts every server needs: conduct, cheating, bans and appeals.
General conduct
- Treat every player and staff member with respect. No hate speech, threats or harassment.
- No advertising other servers, shops or Discords in game or in our channels.
- Use the language channels and in-game chat the way they are labelled.
- Do not share other people’s personal information.
- Staff decisions stand during the session. If you disagree, open a ticket afterwards.
- One account per player. Alt accounts used to dodge rules are treated as ban evasion.
Cheating and exploit rules
- Cheat software of any kind is banned. This includes mod menus, executors, injectors, aimbot, silent aim and macros that give an edge.
- Owning or running a cheat while connected counts, even if you say you did not use it.
- Using a bug or exploit for money, items, vehicles or kills is cheating. Report it in [ticket channel] instead.
- Reporting an exploit honestly will never get you punished. We may reward it.
- Trading, selling or giving away items made through an exploit counts as using the exploit.
- Trying to crash the server or other players’ games is a permanent ban.
- Joining with a new account after a ban is ban evasion. Ban evasion is a permanent ban.
- Helping a cheater, for example by holding their items or money, can get you the same punishment.

What evidence a ban needs
Write down what your staff must have before a cheating ban. It protects honest players and it protects staff when someone appeals.
- At least one clip or screenshot showing the cheat, or a detection from your anticheat with its evidence.
- The time, the player’s in-game name and server ID, and which rule was broken.
- For economy cheats, the log showing where the money or items came from.
- A second staff member’s check before any permanent ban.
Why every ban needs screenshot evidence
Ban lengths and second chances
These are suggested starting points. Change them to fit your server, then stay consistent.
- Cheat software or mod menu: permanent. One appeal allowed after [30] days.
- Crash attempts: permanent. No appeal.
- Ban evasion: permanent on every account. No appeal.
- Using an exploit for money or items: [7] days and the gains removed. Permanent on a second time.
- Holding items for a cheater: [3] days and the items removed.
- Harassment or hate speech: warning, then [3] days, then permanent.
Ban appeal form template
Pin this in your appeals channel or turn it into a ticket form.
- In-game name and Discord name:
- Ban reference or case code shown on your ban screen:
- Date of the ban:
- Which rule were you banned for?
- Why should the ban be changed? Give facts, not feelings.
- Evidence you want staff to look at (clips, screenshots):
- Have you been banned on this server before?
- I understand that lying in an appeal ends it. (yes/no)
Staff rules for handling cheaters
- Never ban on a hunch. Collect evidence first, even when you are sure.
- Do not ban a player you are in a fight or an RP scene with. Pass it to another staff member.
- Write the reason and evidence in the ban, every time.
- Do not argue with a banned player in public channels. Point them to the appeal form.
- A staff member who issued a ban does not judge its appeal.
- Never share detection details in public. Cheaters read your Discord too.
- Staff who abuse admin tools lose them and face the same rules as players.
Anticheat rules without false bans
Cfx.re bans versus your server’s bans
Players mix these up, so explain the difference in your rules. Cfx.re runs its own automated anticheat. When it detects outside programs injecting into the game, it bans the account from FiveM and RedM. The player sees a message saying the account is globally banned, with the length of the ban.
Those appeals go to Cfx.re support through the form linked in its ban FAQ. Your staff can’t review them. Your own bans work the other way round: they only cover your servers, and the appeal comes to you.
Keep your ban list to your own community. The Cfx.re resource FAQ lists shared global ban lists among the things it wants to avoid, because they can ban players for no good reason. With Daddy Shield, one ban covers every server in your account and comes with a screenshot, so each appeal starts with proof.
Posting rules in Discord and in-game
Put the full rules in a read-only rules channel. Then turn on Discord’s Rules Screening. New members must agree to your rules before they can talk, react or DM other members.
- Rules Screening needs Community enabled on your Discord server.
- You set it up under Server Settings, Safety Setup, DM and Spam Protection.
- You can add at most 16 rules, so put the short version there and link the full list.
- Discord notes the extra step can mean fewer people finish joining.
In game, put a one-line summary and your Discord link on the loading screen and in the server description. Many servers also add a rules command through a script, so players can check a rule in the middle of a scene.
FAQ
Can I copy these rules word for word? Yes. Change the bracketed parts and the ban lengths to match how you run your server.
Should cheating bans always be permanent? For cheat software, most servers say yes. For exploits, a first-time ban plus removing the gains gives players a reason to report bugs instead of using them.
Do I need an anticheat if I have good rules? Rules tell players what happens. Something still has to catch cheaters when no staff member is online.
Daddy Shield catches cheaters in the act and saves a screenshot with every ban, so your appeal channel has evidence from day one.
